Horoscopes 2012

The first half of 2012 Year kick's-off with a potent Solar Return, one which sees the Sun and Pluto in tightish conjunction. It's not exact but at three degrees is close enough to have a powerful energy and provide the backdrop for the year ahead for us all.

The Sun is at the centre of all our existence, so it's connection to Pluto, the planet of change, cannot be underestimated. This has the potential for great good, but also for people working for their own agenda's rather than being sensitive to others too. So, however determined you feel to get ahead this year, using your power wisely and fairly, is going to be important.

Sagittarius Solar Eclipse

The Solar Eclipse of last November 25th, is also worth mentioning for its influence continues for a further five months. This was in the go-ahead and progressive sign of Sagittarius, and this too can be a guide to our progress. This was located in the third Decan of the Archer, where it's secondary ruler is the Sun, and helps to provide a real celestial anchor for the more "go for it" energies of this sign's ruler, Jupiter, which can see us diving into situations without sufficient forethought. Now, Jupiter also governs learning, philosophy, religion, and travel. International affairs have been much on the agenda in the last quarter of 2011, and will continue to be so.

Neptune into Pisces

Now the ironic thing; is that Jupiter also governs Pisces, and its co-regent is Neptune and this shimmering influence returns to Pisces (after a brief sojourn last year) for an extended stay on February the 4th. The theme of spirituality also therefore extends from the Sagittarius Solar Eclipse through to this change. This doesn't have to be based on traditional religions, but could be the emergence of a New World Order. Perhaps most of all to do with the realignment of financial structures and the movement for tighter control of reckless and speculative markets. This can continue to grow as the big idea, coming much more to the centre of more people's consciousness.

Jupiter in Taurus

Jupiter continues in Taurus, until switching into Gemini on June 12th. In Taurus, the issue with extravagance continues, but if we work with this, hopefully the needs of those less fortunate in the world especially in developing nations can be addressed. But hey this also points to some moments of make merry, and enjoying the good things in life, and see-saw dieting!!!

In Gemini, this is a little bit complex. The planet is in its fall here, because of the opposition to Sagittarius of which it rules, and there is also the Square to Pisces, which it also governs. And yet there are worse locations. All sorts of bright ideas can develop in this transit, and lots and lots of debate. A new technological breakthrough can follow in the next 12 months, and smart technological can gain pace.

Mars in Virgo

Mars also continues in its extended transit through Virgo through to the 4th of July, when he switches to Libra, and restarts a more typical six week journey through each sign. Mars is about personal gratification, the ego, but it is also sharp eyed and potentially sharp tongued in this location. Acerbic exchanges can come from this. But Mars like recognition, Virgo urges sacrifice, therefore there is a basic incompatibility. However, if you want to work hard, attend the details (makes sense, huh?) and are prepared to look at health, diet and fitness issues, this can be an asset.

Saturn retrograde

The next big influence, is the last of the retrograde cycle of Saturn through Libra. This moves on by the way into Scorpio, in early October. But for five months from the 7th February, this is asking us to keep up the virtuous efforts that it has been urging for each of us to strive for, in all our unique ways. The more you have worked with Saturn, the more this period can lead to a solidifying process. If you have resisted its energies, there may be more lessons to learn.

Gemini Solar Eclipse Squares Neptune

The next real "biggy" is the Solar Eclipse in Gemini of May the 20th. Now Eclipse's work in pairs, but the opposition to November's Sagittarius Eclipse, is around 5 degrees apart, squeezing in as it does, at 0 Degrees. In the first part of Gemini, the focus here is very much on ideas, technology and intellectual debate. However, because Neptune is a bit of a proverbial slow coach, it is going to Square this Solar Eclipse by 2 degrees. In a Natal Chat the Moon Square Neptune can be about confusion, deceit and escapism in all its many forms. So there could be a confusing period for us all that runs on from this Eclipse when we try to balance our hopes, and expectation with reality. This may not be a very good aspect, in my opinion, for events concerning Iran and Israel.
