Question: Why do I always have a problem with relationships? They all turn sour and I can’t seem to find my dream man.
Answer:
Dear Jasmine,
Your dream man does exist, so please don’t give up hope. But first of all, you may benefit from strengthening your boundaries, and taking control of your life, rather than drifting, especially where your love life is concerned. Be proactive. Neptune is in close aspect to your Ascendant and trines both your Sun and Mars, which indicates that you are very open to others, to their moods and feelings and sometimes have difficulty knowing where their boundaries end and yours begin. Sometimes you hesitate to be firm with others because you don’t like to hurt them. But by not speaking your truth you are only hurting yourself more.
Your Sun in Cancer means that you love to care for and nurture others sometimes to the detriment of your own well being. Having Saturn so close to your Descendant also indicates that relationships are a learning curve for you – bringing an opportunity for major growth over the course of this life. As Saturn also squares your Moon in Aquarius, you may find that you are in some way mimicking the relationship between your parents, which may have had a number of ups and downs.
However, a deeply caring and compassionate person is waiting for you, someone who has a spiritual approach to life. You will feel very comfortable with this person, as they will share your values and ideals. But don’t expect to meet them in the usual professional setting. You may have to move in new circles to find them, you may also need to be very patient – but find them you will!
Question: I have recently been made redundant. Do I have what it takes to start my own business?
Answer:
Dear Richard,
Your success at securing work depends on the timing, and this year you could be lucky, but not in the way you are hoping. Your natal chart shows that you are very shrewd operator, and have a natural ability to get the best deals. But at the other end of the spectrum you can also be prone to making mistakes, which could cost you money, especially if you are using your home as collateral. Mars square Uranus means you are willing to take big risks. But you may also be drawn into risky projects – so care is needed. You would do best to work alongside others, and so share, your skills, resources and assets. Ideally you need people who can balance your abilities, and offset your weak points. For best results you do best when you work as part of a team, in which you have an independent say in matters. Working alone is not really an option.
You have Saturn in Cancer in square to both Pluto in Libra and Venus in Aries – making a T-square. This indicates that you are ideally suited to the corporate environment, which gives you the motivation to get ahead. At times you may struggle to get the support you need, yet you can be almost ruthless in making sure you reach your goals. As mentioned earlier timing is everything. As transiting Uranus is currently in your eighth house and Neptune moving to oppose your Ascendant – this isn’t the best time to start a company under your won steam. But as Uranus moves to conjunct your natal Jupiter in July and again in March 2010, an offer out of the blue may be the answer to your prayers. It is better to research your options and perhaps to get a job working for someone who has the experience you are looking for. If you throw yourself in at the deep end you may sink!
Question: Is it possible for me to begin studying for a degree this year?
Answer:
Dear Amy,
With Saturn your ruling planet in Sagittarius and your eleventh house there is a suggestion that you may feel out of place with your fellow students if your chosen course is not heartfelt. If you are honest you may prefer courses that have a philosophic, religious or spiritual bias. You have a powerful desire to pierce the veil and look beneath the surface to the deeper issues of life.
However, it is interesting that you have Mercury, the ruler of your ninth house of higher education, in Scorpio conjunct your Midheaven. This indicates that you are well known for your investigative ability and for being able to make decisions in difficult situations. You can sum up what is going on in such a way that you help others appreciate the truth. Mercury in Scorpio is largely un-aspected, so your ability to shine in this area may not be a constant – and may even be quite unpredictable. Mercury in Scorpio is also great for research. It also suggests that one area that you may find quite engrossing is that of psychology, especially as transiting Pluto, the ruler of your Midheaven is moving through your twelfth house, and is trining its own natal place in the eighth.
This is when you may get help and encouragement from the universe in the form of synchronicity and guidance, so that you know you are on track. There is more to this than taking a degree course, as you seem set to embark on a journey that will lead you to the centre of yourself and so help you find your inner light and enable it to shine more brightly.
A course that encourages inner change and transformation is your best bet. Then you really will succeed. Progressed Mercury is currently retrograde in Capricorn and is about to move back into Sagittarius. This suggests that your original ideas and reasons for wanting a degree may change, the more you reflect on your motives and the kind of people you want to surround yourself with.
