Uranus Square Pluto 2013

Uranus Square Pluto 2013. Last year, Uranus and Pluto, two of Astrology’s mega planets did battle for 7 months, and this really is one of the most intense of all planetary aspects, or angles. Join me to understand how the next 5 months of 2013 will pan out, with a deeper analysis of the impact they will jointly bring.

Uranus Square Pluto

If I said to you, “a great depression has occurred and unemployment is high; individuals feel disenchanted and extremist groups and radical speakers have been increasingly gaining popularity”. You might say to me, “I know, I watch the News”.

However, what if the extremist group gaining popularity is the National Socialist Party and the radical speaker is Hitler? The time period then changes completely, but the similarities remain the same to now.

No doubt this has something to do with the fact that this was the last time Uranus squared up against Pluto. As between 1932-1934, unpredictable Uranus was in fierce Aries, whilst unrelenting Pluto resided in temperamental Cancer. During this phase, these Planets faced five challenging transits, and history speaks volumes as to their effects.

So, if you heard that these planetary heavyweights were booked for a rematch in May 2013, and you already possessed a ringside seat to the event, the outcome would most likely interest you. The square has broadly been building for some while but goes exact on Wednesday 8th May, lasting to November 2013, though the orb, or gap between the exact aspect does open up to two or three degrees at times.

Astrology Aspects

However, this astrology aspect or square-up is not the title challenge, as Uranus and Pluto face a mighty seven confrontations, having commenced in 2012 and continuing until 2015. This being “the encounter of the third kind” as it were, none of these being “brief encounters” either. For Uranus and Pluto are slow-moving Outer Planets or Higher Octave planets, and having both unusually made a transition into new and Cardinal Signs (Uranus into Aries in 2012) and (Pluto into Capricorn in 2008, for all but five months), from then they will subsequently remain in these zodiac signs for quite some years to come. Therefore, due to this their effects can be far-reaching, setting the tone of a generation.

Astrology commentators are speculating at the outcome of this planetary bout, since their previous power struggles have sparked civil uprisings; terrorist activity and even natural disasters. Whilst raising the alarm bells over previous implementations of power, from governments’ and institutions’ misuse of it, to the over consumption of material goods and the Earth’s resources.

The important message now seems to be, what is really of most value to individuals and society as a whole? Resources are becoming scarce and the value of commodities such as gold soars, but this tug of war between Uranus and Pluto is trying to tell us to loosen our grip, as we are clinging to flawed ideals which when held up to the light, are just “fools gold”.

Uranus in Aries Square Pluto in Capricorn

With Uranus being the higher incarnation of intellectual Mercury and Pluto of action orientated Mars, this clash is questioning our thoughts and subsequent actions in a profound and lasting way. However, these Planets may differ in nature, but what they share is a desire to eradicate. Uranus is doing this in an unpredictable and startling way, which is only further charged by spontaneous Aries, as its electric shock awakens you to outgrown and unbeneficial behaviour patterns. This charge invokes restlessness, initiating the need for radical change which is only further energised by plugging into the great transformer of Pluto. As purging Pluto in determined Capricorn will stop at nothing until it finds where the fault lays, destroying previous systems and rewiring future plans.

We can already see global sparks flying, even before the next meeting of Uranus and Pluto, with the Boston bombings on Patriot’s Day by individuals seemingly disenfranchised from the society around them. While priority given to fulfilling cheap clothing demands over the safety of its workers, sees a Bangladesh factory collapse upon its people.

As this year progresses, we will see further warning signs, as Uranus and Pluto both station in retrograde motion, intensifying their energy. For individuals this brings an opportunity to ponder on where they perhaps are going wrong in their lives, as they look inwardly. This is particularly evident with those born with strong Uranus or Pluto placements in their Natal chart. There maybe extreme conflicting urges, as Uranus wants to take flight and escape, while Pluto bears down heavily on you with everyday responsibilities. Those of the 60’s will also be profoundly moved by this planetary clash, as many born then with Uranus and Pluto both conjunct in analytical Virgo, now face a more challenging aspect as Uranus’ 90 degree angle to Pluto forces changes.

While individuals who lived through this period will see the seeds of the revolution they created come to blossom, as the questioning of the Vietnam War gave rise to the flower power movement, now comes a period more of ‘revelation than revolution’, revealing that some of these ideals planted have not turned out quite as planned. November bringing the greatest revelation, as a T-square formation sees expansive Jupiter in Cancer meeting up with Uranus and Pluto, causing events to take place on a colossal scale. So, we do not need a Mathematician to work out that the Square route of Uranus and Pluto is sure to = 1 interesting time 2 be part of!
