Hullo, I’m Astrologer Patrick Arundell, and here is your Astrology Overview for WC 18th June 2018. This Sun moves to join Mercury in Cancer. This asks us to think about all aspects of security be it emotional or practical in the weeks and months to come. Why? Well, there is a Partial Solar Eclipse on the 12th of July, which also faces the planet of change Pluto . With Mercury also in opposition to Pluto this week, we get a taster of the Cardinal face-off that occurs when planets in Cancer and Capricorn go face to face. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and about the orthodox,responsibilities and about the expectations of those in authority whereas Cancer is about nurture and is ruled by the Moon. If we think about the rulers alone, Moon opposite Saturn is not an easy influence and indeed this precise aspect will play out on the back of the Full Moon on the 28th of this month. So what does Mercury opposite Pluto itself exactly mean? We may encounter someone who feels or seems quite belligerent and may be keen to force their views on us. This person could act very defensively, or refuse to listen to reason. The balance between rules and regulations and learnt behaviour and what feels right, might not work well. Imagine what living as a Liberal in Russia might be like, and you’ll get an idea of what I mean.

This week also sees Venus and Mars in opposition. Solo? This may be beneficial and give the extra push of motivation to try to change this. Involved? Any tie which is not well balanced around the more masculine and feminine exchanges of energy could reach a touch and go point. Keeping the lines of communication will be important, and avoiding taking fixed and inflexible positions. With Neptune also beginning to retrace her steps, being sensitive but not being submerged is going to be essential.
