Astrology Overview October 2015

If the twelve months of the year were compared to a collection of Fairytales, then the tenth month of October would surely be Snow White, the fairest of them all, due to the month commencing with the Sun shining in the balanced Sign of Libra. For the Air Sign of Libra may be no Snow White, but it sure does know wrong from right!

However, this month this Sign maybe experiencing a little difficulty, for as the month of October gets underway, it is not so much of a ‘hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to work we go’, but more ‘grumpy and dopey’ slowing down the pace. For October opens with the Sun in Libra co-joined by everyday Mercury still in retrograde motion, continuing to cause all-round havoc and hindrances, especially in the area of collective harmony. As the Sign of Libra governs social cohesion affecting diplomacy and co-operative relations in all its forms, so reaching some kind of agreement will prove exasperating this month. Therefore, do not be surprised if disruptions are the order of the day and the threat of strikes persist. With the areas governed by the Planet, Venus remaining particularly affected, from those of pleasurable and aesthetic pursuits along with festivities; to the institution of marriage or issues of female inequality.

This only worsened by the month beginning with the North Node at a critical 0 degree in Libra, as it emphasises previous major flaws, culminating on the 9th when it meets up with Mercury. Thus, offering no opportunity to be ‘bashful’ and shy away from issues, as planetary activity forces errors and poor judgement to be confronted. Subsequently bringing concerns over new legislations and defective political endeavours to the forefront. While, an unpredictable Uranus stalled in Aries and a challenging Pluto in Capricorn make difficult aspects, meaning unforeseen and unplanned for problems keep arising. The strain only escalates further from the 3rd, when Pluto also moves to a critical degree, applying pressure to implement necessary changes throughout the remainder of October.

This ‘ten-sion’ even fails to relent when Mercury turns direct on the 10th of the tenth, due to the fact that Mercury’s retrograde motion continues to exert a degree of influence until it revisits the degree it retrograded at originally. This not occurring until the 27th, coincidentally ending with this month’s finalising Taurus Full Moon. Although, on a positive note, at this time, a sense of closure to previous dilemmas should be evident, specifically involving matters associated with Venus, due to Libra and Taurus sharing this planetary ruler. However, both Signs may share this ruler, but they go about matters in very different ways. For Air Sign Libra manifests this Planet’s energy intellectually, whereas, Earth Sign Taurus favours practical action. Although, combining the two elements allows Taurus to put Libran theory into practice. So utilising these planetary movements effectively this month offers the prospect of providing sensible everyday resolutions, literally sharing resources and finances fairly. This is further emphasised by the New Moon in Libra on the 19th which initiates new opportunities, coming to fruition with the 27th’s Full Moon.

For this New Moon in Libra is fortunate in financial terms, promoting new political verging upon religious leanings. This seeming appropriate in the UK, as the Labour Party undergoes a ‘happy’ resurgence, but across the UK this month, planetary movements challenge the UK’s identity, status and relationships with other nations. This is no doubt in part to do with its dealing with the refugee crisis, as a ‘sleepy’ reaction to the repeated wakeup calls from other EU member States has caused much friction. While worldwide instability is further heightened this month by the Full Moon in Taurus, as it opposes the United Nations and its partnerships. As well as being associated with earthquakes, fire destruction and war, along with revealing North Korea’s military intentions; disharmony in Russia and affecting the people of Mexico. Meanwhile after the Pope’s visit to the U.S and Cuba, it highlights encouraging ideas from the Vatican, but Cuba seems less enthused.

Although, on a more harmonious note, the Libra New Moon brings positive advancement to Palestine, Egypt, NASA and the New York Stock exchange, but the White House faces opposition and restrictions to American life. With Japan, China along with Iran and Iraq experiencing less favourable outcomes. Furthermore, as the month nears its end the Sun enters Scorpio, the Sign of joint monies, opposing the Full Moon in Taurus. So even though resolutions may have been reached, there will be more limits on people’s and governmental budgets.

Perhaps due to the extra flood of people entering other countries, as with Saturn once again in Sagittarius, the Sign of foreign affairs and law, this humanitarian crisis continues to gain momentum. As responsible Saturn forms difficult Mutable aspects to Mars in Virgo co-joined by Jupiter and Venus from the 9th, all opposing Neptune. This initiates an abundance of upheavals and disasters to contend with, especially by the end of October, as Jupiter and Saturn reach a critical degree, making the advice of a ‘doc’ necessary. As the implications of having so many people travelling and trying to resettle at one time appears not to have been fully considered, in terms of their health, welfare and the austere weather conditions, as well as the austerity measures in these countries.

For Greece continues to face troubles this month, as does Estonia, Poland and Finland, along with Canada, Malaya, the Solomon Islands and the Philippines. While, Syria, Panama, Venezuela, Honduras, Belize and Ethiopia are also starred, with Swaziland, Botswana, Portugal and Belgium headlined. So events this October mirror complicated planetary formations, as the month is dwarfed by concerns, but upon reflection there is still the promise of a happy every after!
