After watching the portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg’s character in ‘The Social Network’, you would think this C.E.O of Facebook would need a Friend Request or two! He is shown to be ruthless and ambitious, pressing the delete button on close friends, the film shows little redeeming qualities.
However it appears the film is more a work of Computer Science-fiction than fact, leaving speculation over the true face of Facebook’s Master, whether it be genuine humanitarian or just a Computer Genius with the ‘hard drive’ necessary to succeed?
Voted in 2010 as Time Magazine’s Person of the Year and 2008’s Youngest Billionaire, Mark certainly has made his mark early on, as his talent for developing software developed at a tender age. For as Jose Antonio Vargas states, ‘some kids played computer games, Mark created them’, and even the Software Developer brought in to tutor young Zuckerberg found it ‘tough to stay ahead of him’. Although this is not surprising on inspection of Zuckerberg’s own personal data, as born with a close Sagittarian Uranus and South Node, there exists an inherited talent for computers and groundbreaking ideas ruled by Uranus. While expansive Sagittarius adds a global and philosophical element, enabling him to change cultural communication, from around the world in 80 days to seconds.
Furthermore Zuckerberg’s Mercury in Aries gives him a keen entrepreneurial awareness, utilising everyday modes of communication. As what begun as literally ‘a book of faces’ compiled by Zuckerberg and his Harvard ‘dorm mate’ to rate fellow student’s attractiveness, Mark soon evolved into ‘Facebook’, by listening to student’s requests. For with the Moon, Mars and Saturn in Scorpio this prodigy is able to tap into what people want and possesses the determination to achieve it, aided by his controlling Scorpio Pluto.
However ironically, this combination has enabled him to transform universal communication, but struggle ‘face to face’, as his girlfriend’s film character compares conversation with Zuckerberg to a Stairmaster workout.
As his malefic Scorpio planets already hinder the Moon’s expressiveness, but with Sun and Venus in opposing Taurus further restrictions exist.
