March begins with the Sun and also Mercury and Neptune in the sign of Pisces. However Mercury is in retrograde, as well as being in detriment in the 12th sign of the Zodiac, this can create a little bit of a sluggish beginning to the month.
Also on the 4th Mercury regresses into the sign of Aquarius where it’s going to be until 15th March. Ironically Mercury is exalted in Aquarius and once it goes forwards from the 10th, there is an opportunity for us all to create more clarity in our approach.
But also from the 5th to the 12th the Sun is can going to be combining with dreamy Neptune. This can bring a more spiritual, psychic and compassionate vibe to bear, but also decrease physical vitality. If you find yourself wanting to go through a period of reflection it would be no surprise.
Ironically on the 5th Venus however moves into its home zone of Taurus, and through to the 12th combines superbly with Uranus the planet of surprises. If something has been stuck around the relationship this is an opportunity to find solutions, but it may also require the people involved to be flexible and not take fixed positions, which is possible in the sign of Taurus, which can be resistant to change.
The 9th sees a Full Moon in Virgo, one which occurs at 5:47 PM GMT. This links to both Jupiter and Pluto, in a very helpful way but because the Sun also conjoins with Neptune, this can create a very dreamy vibe. Although this can bring to the surface issues that may have been unresolved, with the potential for purity and healing that Virgo brings, growth from Jupiter, and transformation from Pluto, balancing our more spiritual hopes with practicalities is essential.
From the 9th through till the 24th also sees Jupiter and Pluto in conjunction. After the intensity of last year’s combination between Saturn and Pluto, which came to a peak on January 12th this year, but started to fade from 18th February, this has a much greater chance of opportunity for change for the better. As mentioned before Mercury goes direct on the 10th, returns to Pisces on the 16th, and comes fully out a shadow on the 29th. But in week three, Mars goes alongside Pluto. This can be a very explosive conjunction, and some kind of major confrontation or clash is possible.
Critically on the 20th the Vernal Equinox ushers in the first point of Aries, and the new Western Tropical Zodiac year. The Sun’s return to Aries also sees it combine with the energy of the wounded healer Chiron. If a lack of clarity over our identity has been an issue, this can be very reinforcing but it’s encouraging us, to really embrace all that is new and fresh, to be as enterprising as possible.
The 22nd sees Saturn move into Aquarius where it’s going to be through to 1st July before its retrograde which begins on the 11th May, which sees it return to the sign of Capricorn.
Like Capricorn, Aquarius is governed in part by Saturn. But Aquarius has a dual nature. The modernity of Uranus, coupled with the traditionalism of Saturn. So think it’s possible that this early point in March, we can see a greater shift towards the collective values, and the greater spiritual enlightenment at the sign of Aquarius, than then the often material, powercentric energies of Capricorn. However, with the potent energies still in Capricorn, Saturn arriving in Aquarius can be a warning to person kind as a whole, that some old and unhelpful practices have to change, or our very survival can be threatened. This may seem ominous, and of course, we must always be hopeful, but some kind of major shift in consciousness is going to needed to deal with the Corona Virus (Covid-19) and the impact of this on the global financial network.
Also the New Moon in Aries of the 24th at 9:28 AM GMT, sees the Moon and the Sun combine in a Semi-Sextile with the free-spirited Uranus. And the following month can be a time of real opportunities, to initiate, to change, or to welcome new approaches but particularly around our resources, be it physical, material or fiscal.
Also from the 18th to the 26th, Mercury as it advances in Pisces links in the superb Sextile with Uranus, just like it did in early February, reinforcing the potential to gain through listening to our hunches and acting upon them decisively and being open to new ideas.
As Mars arrives in Aquarius on the 30th, to join with Saturn on the 31st, there really can be a sense of a new dawn emerging. After the tumultuous energies of Saturn and Pluto’s conjunction, of broadly the last year, we are being given an opportunity to reset whole outlooks and approach.
