Rabbit Symbolism

Rabbits signify the Moon in Chinese culture. Some claim it’s because the Moon's shadow looks like a Rabbit. Some claim it’s because of the Rabbit's purest qualities.

The Rabbit is regarded as the luckiest animal among the twelve in Chinese culture. It stands for kindness, grace and beauty. The year of the Rabbit is associated with peacefulness and serenity in people. Rabbit people tend to avoid conflict and disagreement, but they are creative and have wonderful taste.

They can lean towards the side of perfectionism, and pay special attention to even the smallest things because of this. It could be said that Rabbit people resist changes because they may be prone to nervousness and sensitivity. Because of their intelligence and commitment to excellence, Rabbits make fantastic students.

What's in store with the Year of the Water Rabbit?

An eventful year, following the energies of the dominant Tiger, the arrival of the Water Rabbit offers gentleness.

This year could bring us both individually and collectively, the opportunity for healing, finding balance and making plans.

The year of the Water Rabbit asks us to show tolerance to each other, and become aware of any inner impulses that have taken hold of us in a more detrimental context. What can we change to live a more harmonious lifestyle?

This year could see recognition for previous hard work, and we could witness our aspirations come to fruition.

We might see the Water Rabbit Year as a chance to settle any 'Karmic Debts'. The Rabbit is a keen observer, and so our inner worlds will be just as important as our material plane this year.

If we’ve been repressing our feelings in order to keep the peace, this year can see those emotions come to the surface in order to be looked at, and for healing to take place.

Sometimes these conversations are uncomfortable, but necessary for spiritual growth. This can be reflected in both our personal lives, but also on the global stage.
