Indianapolis Incident

It’s not unknown for youthful high spirits to leave the rest of us with shattered nerves, as another much loved piece of ceramic or glass gets broken into a thousand pieces, and you may have heard yourself cry ‘What possessed you to do that’. Spare some sympathy then for an Indiana mother who believes her children were literally possessed by demons.  Latoya Ammons, claimed her children walked up walls, levitated and spoke in voices. She stated that she saw her twelve-year-old daughter ‘levitate’ out of her bed. The child in question was also reported being ‘thrown across the room and grabbed by dark shadows’. Ms Ammons has some impressive witnesses and supporters for her argument that something strange was occurring in her family. Police Captain Charles Austin, said that he was convinced by the story and described himself as a "believer" after interviewing Ms Ammons and her family. He is not alone; official state documents detail more events, apparently witnessed by medical experts and other independent witnesses. The reports dating back to 2012, support Ammons’ claims. In the documents, psychologists state that they saw one child speak in ‘different deep voices’ and walk backwards up a wall. One report detailed an occasion when one of the children walked up a wall in clear view of a number of medical professionals;

‘X began to have a weird smile on his face and he charged at the grandmother's stomach and head butted her several times until she grabbed his hands and started praying…[he] was speaking in a different deep voice saying 'It's time to die,' 'l will kill you,' and staring around the room….[he] had the weird grin on his face and began to walk backwards, while the grandmother was holding his hand, and he walked up the wall backwards while holding the grandmother's hand and he never let go…He flipped over and landed on his feet in front of the grandmother and sat down in the chair.’

Nevertheless, other parts of the report are more sceptical, and point out that an unnamed witness has suggested that Ms Ammons may have mental health issues, and that it is possible that the children were acting in this way to seek her approval. Eventually, the children were removed from the family home. The day after the children were removed, Rev Mike Maginot was asked to carry out an exorcism on them and their mother. Rev Maginot claimed that during the exorcism one of the children would react every time he condemned the evil spirit. Six months later the children were returned home and their strange symptoms seem to have vanished.
