Royal Baby Horoscope

The Royal Family’s new addition was a boy, according to Buckingham Palace. So what can we make of this from an astrological perspective? Well, the immediate stand-out feature which highlights regal lustre, is that the Sun is located in Cancer, one of the Cardinal, or leader signs of the zodiac.

Yet Venus although just relocated in Virgo, it continues to forge a wonderful semi-sextile, with the Sun one of the best of all the angles that can be formed between two planets and sure to imbue the new addition with a very special aura, one that is sure to give him a sparkling persona, much in the same way as Princess Diana his Grandmother.

And there are some important links between Diana and his father William and the new Princess’s chart, not least that they all share the Sun in Cancer.

A Cancer Prince is born

The interesting thing is that the new baby’s Venus is remarkably close to Diana’s Natal or birth Uranus, suggesting that this is a legacy associated with the Royal Family she would have taken particular delight from. Diana’s Moon and Uranus were in opposition, and this makes people very fond of their own space and independence, but ironically can see them feel apart from the people they crave to part of and this seems to ring true.

Yet whilst the Royal arrival will radiate a Cancer dignity, with four planets all located in the sign his absolute heartbeat will be of the caring, firm and yet traditional Prince, with the go-getting Mars and Jupiter conjunct or side by side one another and Mercury, the planet of talk and thought, in this zodiac sign too. This suggests this will be a person who will understand very clearly the importance of family, of duty and of State. Whilst Cancer people are often far more tenacious than given credit for, this is the sign of feeling, of emotion and of caring. This chart is also supported by a quite beautiful link between Mercury and Chiron in Pisces, this could give the newborn a fantastically compassionate nature.

Cancer influences

Mercury in Cancer also bestows an extra sensory way of communicating, whilst Mars and Jupiter combined suggest a love of rugged adventure, sport and a desire to be a risk taker, in Cancer this can be tempered by a more sensitive dynamic.

The New Child’s astrological Challenges

So are there any downsides? Well the baby has been born very close to an Aquarius Lunation, so the Sun and Moon will always be in opposition and there may be touches of the rebel. This is where it can be difficult to reconcile the drive and emotional needs of an individual. This is probably not such a surprise for Royals, who obviously have to sacrifice quite a lot of their personal space and privacy for the wider cause, and there may be times when this child feels the same.

What is also challenging is that Mercury clashes with the Natal Uranus. This can lead to an almost constant restlessness. A rather wound up energy where it is difficult sit still and where there can be frustrations with any form of restriction. Yet, this can be a good counterbalance in some ways, to the more traditional vibes of Cancer, seeing a Prince with an occasional taste for the unusual, if overall, his instincts are more conventional. With Mercury also opposing Pluto, there may be times when the Prince reflects his Grandmothers instinct to speak out when it suits him.

Furthermore, the new Prince also has a T Square on Saturn for both the Sun and the Moon. This could see at times him feel hemmed in by the constraints of the role, yet the modern approach that William, Kate and Harry have adopted suggest that although there may be moments of frustration, the environment will hopefully be easier for him than his fore-bearers.
